Activity 2: Use themes and layouts
In this activity you’ll test out some different themes and layouts using your “On the Rise
Bakery best practices sharing” presentation in Google Slides.

1. Click this link On the Rise Bakery best practices sharing.pptx Links to an external site. to open the document
from the course drive.
2. Close the “On the Rise Bakery best practices sharing.pptx” tab. 

(This step will allow you to be able to access this file from your recents.)

Complete the following steps:

1. Go to your My Drive at drive.google.com Links to an external site. and open your “On the Rise Bakery best
practice sharing” presentation.
2. Select Theme to open the theme browser panel.
3. Try selecting different themes to see how it changes the look of the presentation.
4. Try applying a different layout to a slide. Select Slide, then choose Apply Layout.
5. Make changes to layouts and the theme.

     a. Select Slide and Edit theme.
     b. Change the background color of the Theme slide or any of the layouts beneath the Theme slide. 

6. Import a theme. Here you will apply the original theme from the Powerpoint
presentation in the course drive. This will reset any changes that you made.

a. Select Import theme.
b. Select the “On the Rise Bakery best practices sharing.pptx” PowerPoint
thumbnail, and click Select to import the theme.

If you make changes that you are not happy with, click the Undo toolbar icon to revert them. If
you are unable to revert to a state you are happy with, select File, then Move to Trash to
delete the current presentation. Then repeat Activity 1 from earlier.
Do not close your presentation. You will use it in the next activity.
