Activity 1: Start a project in Google Slides
In this first activity, you will learn two ways of starting a presentation in Google Slides. First, you
will make a copy of an existing presentation that is stored in the course drive to your personal
My Drive. Then you will create a new blank presentation from your Google Drive.

Complete the following steps:
1. Open the On the Rise Bakery best practices sharing Links to an external site. presentation.
2. Select File, Make a copy, then choose Entire presentation.
3. Change the name to “On the Rise Bakery best practice sharing”, and click OK to save
your copy of the presentation.
4. Close the two presentation tabs.
5. In a new browser tab, go to drive.google.com Links to an external site. to open your Google Drive. Select My
Drive and verify that “On the Rise Bakery best practice sharing” exists.
6. Next, create a new presentation. From your Google Drive, select New, then Google
Slides. Click on “Untitled presentation” and type “My presentation”.
7. Close the “My presentation” tab.
